Story:

The name Svarna Dvipa means ‘Islands of Gold’ and was known as the first kingdom in early Indonesia, spawning the Indonesian golden age of Buddhism. Great sages and scholars such as Atisha went to study there. The precious jewel they were looking for was the teaching of Bodhicitta, the art of loving kindness.

I started with a layer of purple then I added gold paint. I then placed gold foil square, some more gold paint for the temple gates, then using a gold wax I filled in the areas of the gates. There are four types of gold used in this painting. There are many layers to this painting even though it looks simple.
